So I stroll onto BV and I see that Brown N Beautiful is upset, and I see that Beauty4ashes is upset and Sloewyne is upset, so I wanna know what's going on. I click onto BNB's thread, called "In response to Ni**gers" and discover that some troll named "jenkemjane" has been trolling and posting up threads called NIGGERS.

This jenkemjane has been banned from other British boards, probably for doing the same thing he/she/it is doing on BV.

Jenkemjane isn't the problem. The BV Plantation Moderators are the problem. They can keep up jenkemjane's threads with offensive language, but they are johnny on the spot with deleting or modifying everybody else's.

For example, when I first came on BV tonight, Sloewyne's thread was called "Where in the Fuck are the Mods?" Johnny on the Spot changed it to:

So the mods can change the title of Sloewyne's thread with the quickness but leave jenkemjane's racist posts and threads up for posterity.

Leading me to believe that jenkemjane is a BV moderator. I see that Uncle Rhino has got his feathers ruffled at being accused of being the troll jenkemjane because although Nappy is allegedly American he uses British spellings to seem like a Speshul Negro, and so does this jenkemjane character. I also see one other person scratching under their underarms swinging from the trees who just happens to be in every single thread concerning BV moderators. Hmmm.

Let's get down to the bottom of this, shall we?

The problem is that moderators are only members - just like you and me - who have either volunteered or been asked to be a mod...they receive VERY little money for it (which is why you usually only see them at night or on the weekends...they have day jobs like everybody else).

I see now that some of them will shut down a thread because they're being criticized...which defeats the entire purpose of being a moderator!

There's definitely some foolishness going on with at least two of the mods on here...and I'm going to do what Kemestry said he was going to do: take it up the chain a little further.

I can see the threads that were being shut down because of legitimate TOS violations...but that right there was just ridiculous!

What I think is ridiculous is threads like "raccoons and trolls" are deleted with the quickness, but anti BM /BW threads are left up for posterity.

BVers are questioning whether or not Mental Marinade is a moderator because of the rapid pace of the deletion of threads discussing this subject.

He plans to shut down the dail up service slowly and allow growth in the AOL ad division. With all the new changes, people are asking will other business units get cut too.
If Blackvoices.com is not making any money, it will be the first to be cut. Bewkes wants to make AOL appear to be a cash cow. Beweks wants this make over to appear attractive as possible to other entities that maybe interest in AOL.
If Blackvoices.com is shutdown, there are a tons of smaller sites that target African Americans or people of color waiting to collect new membership. This shutdown of Blackvoices will leave message board monitors such as Sloewyne and NappyRhino out of jobs. --mybabyraheem

LOL! Will BV survive as a message board? Yes. There have always been chat rooms, bulletin boards and message boards on the internet.

Will BV survive as the spot for gossip, news and entertainment? Maybe, but you have to take in account that the blogs have popped up in recent years, and they deliver celebrity gossip, analysis and pictures faster and better than BV.

We haven't even seen too much of Fan of the Lakers posting pics lately. Either she finally got banned by BV or maybe she bought a clue and started up her own blog. I think the blogs will be the downfall of BV and sites like it because people can do whatever they want on the blogs. They don't have to worry about getting their thread or post deleted because they said something somebody else didn't like, but other people can post racist, sexist threads with porn links in the siggy and BV takes their sweet time doing anything about it. Who needs that when you can go to Blogger.com and start up your own blog in 15 minutes?

LOL @ Sloewyne and Uncle Rhino losing their jobs! If BV ever shut down, Sloewyne would just move on to another message board but Uncle Rhino wouldn't know what to do with himself. Ok, you say, one of the blog regulars did it. And this could be true. But the more likely scenario is Mental Gorilla and her Hair Bear Bunch are creating all sorts of screennames (BV must've hit some kind of screenname creation record this week), flaming different posters, and blaming on MsKayty, the Panks and/or the blog.

Ok. When this blog flames your ass, you will feel the heat. I don't think any of us wants pictures of Vesperatos saved to our hard drives for later use (again, no offense), but some of these sick puppies like the Hair Bear Bunch who write odes on how "beautiful" they are to each other probably do.

Hey, everyone. Today I am gonna do something different. Since I have been bloggin', many women from different walks of life, cultures, shapes, races, countries and even ages have been posted. I love being able to do that because beauty is universial and does not have a particular "look" though many want to make it that way. But that is neither here or there.

I am a member of blackvoices.com which is affiliated with Aol.com and I have been able to chat with many beautiful black women over the about 3 years I have been on there. It is always fun and with exceptions most people are cool. It amazes me that with all the photos that are on the net, how many beautiful women who don't even use their looks to profit off it are. Not that they should. Everyone has their own life to live. Anyway, I am going to blog on a woman who I met online and yes she is part of the BTC too. But this is not why I am even posting on her. Beautiful, right? The first we really chatted was on a thread called thick vs. fat and it got ugly. She made some good comments, others came in asking is she thought she thick rather than fat. I agreed with her answer but it got really ugly in there. Some of it came from her end, but I did like that she would take no shyt from anyone. There were many interesting celebrities on BV this year. Jia, the 2006 Celebrity of the Year, tried her hardest with her YouTube video series, and Uncle Rhino and Sloewyne pushed their post totals over 50K. Mysarahjanex was racist and self hating as usual.

Many wannabees tried their hardest to be a celebrity but they just couldn't make the cut. Trolling on the blog trying to get shit started when nobody had been talking about you for weeks guarantees you a spot on the F-list.

And then some wannabees tried jumping on the blog bandwagon to get some shine and attention. You know you're an Z-lister when you create threads on BV trying to get some attention for yourself via the blog.

The 2007 Celebrity of the Year was loved by some and hated by many. People started threads attacking this celebrity because they couldn't be like this celebrity or be accepted by them. Why? They are supposed to be grown ass adults but the mere existence of this celebrity reduced them back to Miss McGillicutty's 6th grade homeroom class. Actually, I've seen more mature 6th graders than the wannabees jocking this celebrity.

And for what? Is being accepted by internet posters the highlight of your life? Do you not have love and attention in your real life? Of course not, that's why the people who hated this celebrity were on BV all the time when they allegedly had men and marriage and children and fabulous jobs. Seriously, some people need to click on the red X and get a damn life!

Using condoms means being untrustworthy...by november30

November30 wants to know why, if you're in a long term relationship, would you still use condoms with your man. She seems to imply that if you're in a long term relationship and you're still using condoms, it must mean you all don't trust each other. Additionally, if you are using condoms for birth control, you might as well just go ahead and be abstinent.

I am not understanding what one has to do with the other. A couple's birth control methods are between them. They have to decide what's best for their sexual health. One person might have a pre-existing STD going on that they don't want to expose their partner to. Other people might not want to use chemical birth control.

November30 "seems" to be saying that only by going raw can there be trust, and if you don't trust each other enough to go raw and you don't want to get pregnant you shouldn't be having sex at all. So if a married couple is using condoms only, and the wife isn't using birth control because she has health factors that prevent her from using chemical birth control (being overweight, prone to blood clots, smoker, being over 35, being prone to strokes, etc.) they should just not have sex at all. Right.

What I want to know is why is it anyone's business what methods of contraception a couple uses, and why people feel the need to judge other people on their methods of contraception? And why would anyone discuss their methods of birth control with anyone other than their partner? Sounds to me somebody is too lazy to insist their partner use a condom and is trying to justify it.

Last time I checked, skipping out on a meeting was neither criminal nor violent. Assholish, yes. Thuggish, no. Taylor may have had some scrapes with the law, but that doesn't make him a thug. ..I've left office/administrative/case work about a year, or so, ago, ..and I've returned to the work I had been doing in my first years of working (since the age of 15), of course, in the fast-food industry ...And I get my hustle on, doing hair, ..art work, etc., ..and get help from a family member who stays w/ me...

...Now and then, I need some government assistance - I recently applied for energy assistance, but I can't really get anything, otherwise, cuz I have only one child (aint it crazy how the system's set up? ...My friend is afraid to marry her long-time boyfriend - afraid of losing housing benefits! *smh*)

...I'm sharing all this for a reason, now - this aint about "telling out your business", but telling you about LIFE & REALITY! (If you dont' already know 'bout that)...

..My nieces (who I've raised w/ my mom) think I'm crazy, and while we were downtown, they were mentioning how I used to work in big buildings like this, trying to make me sound like a "big loser" now...

...And my somewhat spoiled, only child is hinting on how she kinda wants me to go back into higher paying work - NOT because she's poor, hungry, or can't have nice clothes ..but because she wants these "name brand boots" *rolleyes* ..Trus me, this girl's got more s.hit than most of these kids in our neighborhood - hair, and all! ..I had to whoop her lit' a.ss, recently, cuz I gave her $200 to spend on some winter clothes, and she gets only a few things - spending $25 on getting her nails done! ..My brother thought I was being too strict, but I'm old-fashioned - I'm not w/ little girls (even if they're 15) having overly-designed, acrylic nails!

..But anyways, recently, ..I quit my job in fast food - I have a disability, and I didn't tell them about this, and I can't tell you how they treated me after that, even though I've been working in fast-food since 1990! ..I was SO hurt!
